About Me

Hey! My name is Petra, but everybody just calls me Pezi. At least they try to call me like this. I accept Pizza, Betsi, Pizi, etc. as well. The last years after my graduation I worked as a sportsphysiotherapist with a football and soccer team and also as a sports teacher for disabled people. However I really loved my work, I'm dreaming of traveling the world for more than 7 years now. I've already visited a lot of countries and also lived in Sweden for 3 months while studying, but I always wanted to experience having no boundaries, just live in the moment and go wherever you want. So I finally quit my jobs in 2017, bought a oneway ticket to Bali and ended up traveling for about a year through Indo, Australia and the UK. Right now I'm back working in Vienna, but i can't wait to go on my next surfing trip.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love travelling and meeting new people or cultures. Couchsurfing is a good opportunity to travel for little money and get information about the country from locals. And you find friends all over the world.

Interests

I'm interested in all kinds of sports. When I was younger I played in a volleyball and football team close to Vienna. This was the reason why I choose to be a sportsphysio. In 2013 i tried surfing for the first time and since then I'm addicted to it. My dream right now is to buy a van and travel whole Europe with my surfboard.

I also love beeing outside, enjoying the nature and it's beauties, especially animals and super cheesy sunsets. I'm now vegetarian for more than 6 years and got vegan a while ago, because I don't want any animal to suffer or die just that I have something to eat. Anyway I'm really tolerant and accept different opinions as long as everything is on a respectful level. Except of discussions about cats. Cats are the best no matter what.

Apart from surfing and petting cats I love to go for a run, ride my bicycle, eat good food, drink some beers, drink some more beers, sleep, make inappropriate jokes, spend time with my family and friends, work hard on my social media profile, etc. I guess everything what normal people do nowadays.

Oh and last but not least traveling of course. I love beeing on the road, on the way to the next adventure, to mind-blowing destinations and to openminding conversations with people from different cultures. For me it's the best way to grow and open your mind. So all the money I've left I spend on traveling (Which is unfortunately not much)

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite band for more than 18 years now (fuck I'm getting old) is still Blink182. I fell in love when I first watched the video of the naked guys running on the streets. Two years ago I finally saw them live and it was the best concert I've ever been to.

The last amazing movie I saw was Given. A story about a boy who travels and surfs the world with his family and learns about the important things in life. I also love watching documentaries like Earthlings, Minimalism, Sharkwater,... But my most favorite movie is still Wall-E - supercute and thought-provoking story.

Unfortunately I haven't read many books in the last years, but the best one lately was Surfing Buddha.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jumped off a 15m waterfall in Bali without losing my bikinitop, Rode a bicycle on the freeway in California, Accidentally worked for the mafia, watched the northern lights in a jacuzzi while drinking beers

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll probably share some funny cat videos with you on Instagram at some point (this means I like you) What I never gonna share is food - Sorry for that. I guess I could teach a lot, but I'm not sure if this is really beneficial for humanity.

What I Can Share with Hosts
