To build a legacy by making a significant positive difference to others. I am a survivor of child abuse and domestic violence and I am working to empower victims to find freedom and rebuild their lives.

I love traveling and exploring the world.

I don't do drugs. I don't smoke. I love meeting people. I love to cook. I'm passionate about art and what it does to help improve people's lives.

I'm an artist. My music is available on all music platforms (iTunes, Spotify, YouTube...) if you look me up by "Practically A Goddess". My books are available on Amazon and various other websites. My paintings are in various galleries/exhibitions in Southern California. My movies are available on Amazon Prime and various websites.

I have an organization that provides education and support for victims of psychological abuse. I have changed laws regarding child abuse and domestic violence in several States in the US.

I used to be a hard-hat and steel-capped-shoes-wearing engineer and have designed and built a factory in California. I'm now very happy with my floral dresses and don't miss the life of an engineer at all.

PHILOSOPHY

You are those you surround yourself with, and where you end up in life is a result of your actions. Not thought, not aspiration, not upbringing, but actions.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to couch surf wherever I went and I hosted whenever I could. For me, it was about connecting with others in a very deep and meaningful way. I feel that it is a privilege when someone opens up their home and shares a part of their life with me and I don't take it for granted.

Couchsurfing, and the world, have changed a lot, unfortunately, and I'm much older now (and set in my own way) so now I don't feel as safe or comfortable, and am a little hesitant about hosting or surfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first CS experience was on a trip to Australia and New Zealand. Stayed with an amazing group of CS people in Melbourne twice. Then stayed with a really sweet and nice couple in Burnie, Tasmania for a night. What a good start. Very grateful to my first hosts for such a great experience in CS.

I have since then surfed in Peru, Puerto Rico, Japan, Vietnam, Europe, and around the US. I have also hosted people from around the world (Switzerland, China, India, France, Australia...) It has been an amazing experience meeting new people. I have also hosted CS meetup events because I love the community.

Interests

I will dance to any type of musics - whether I know how to dance or not. Books: "The hills of Tuscany" by Ferenc Mate , "You're only human once" by Grace Moore. Movies: The first Matrix movie, Gone with the wind, The Shawshank redemption, Meet Joe Black...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Having children. It's both rewarding and challenging at the same time. But it's a life miracle.
