About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

I like to laugh at myself and with other people. I have always been a kin traveller. As a teenager I used to hitch-hike just with a tootbrush in my pocket. For a long time I tried to "figure things out". I gave up that idea sometime ago and now I am just trying to enjoy life's mystery and surprises. I love people. I enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories. I have a deep-seeded belief that somehow we are all connected and we share the same humanity. CS and travelling is helping us understand that connection.

PHILOSOPHY

This is our world!!!

"There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in" (Leonard Cohen).

"Never loose a holly curiosity" (Albert Einstein).

"Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." (Mark Twain).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

CS meetings in Manchester and Bristol and other places around the world. I am always happy to meet people for a drink and to show them around Bristol or to give them ideas, suggestions. Talking to people about CS and sharing my passion.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

CS helped a lot when I moved to Manchester, considering that I had no friends in the city. Belonging to a community makes everything better. Also, I have surfed, hosted, and met people both in Manchester and elsewhere. I always finding refreshing meeting new people and meeting with CS-ers on my travels has made the experience more authentic. CS has enabled me to have an insider perspective on places that I travel to and scratch beyond the surface.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swimming in the sea at night, when it's pitch dark outsite. It is both frightening and eliberating. Travelling on top of the van in the Andes. Sleeping on the beach and being awaken by a complete stranger to watch the sunrise. I once cooked pancakes for everyone in the hostel where I was staying. Food brings people together and bridges gaps. It was a wonderful experience!
