关于我
CURRENT MISSION
Growing the best garden ever.
ABOUT ME
I just got back from a month in Hawaii and I am happier than I have ever been in my life,
PHILOSOPHY
"Ever notice that anyone going slower than you is an idiot, but anyone going faster is a maniac?"
-George Carlin
"Not all who wonder are lost"
When mushroom hunting you don't have to know all the mushrooms that can kill you, just the ones that won't.
Every person I meet gives me a new perspective with which to better understand myself.

The Road Not Taken
by Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

On Man's understanding of causality:
"The use of atomic weapons was widely blamed on a primate named Albert Einstein. Even Einstein himself had agreed with this opinion. He was a pacifist and had suffered abominable pangs of conscience over what had been done with his scientific discoveries. "I should have been a plumber," Einstein said just before he died.
Actually, the discovery of atomic energy was the result of the work of every scientist, craftsman, engineer, technician, philosopher, and gadgeteer who had ever lived on Terra. The use of atomic energy as a weapon was the result of all the political decisions ever made, from the time the vertebrates first started competing for territory.
Most Terran primates did not understand the multiplex nature of causality. They tended to think that everything had a single cause. The simple philosophic error was so wide spread on that planet that the primates were all in the habit of giving themselves, and other primates, more credit than was deserved when things went well. This made them inordinately conceited.
They also gave themselves, and one another, more blame than was deserved when things went badly. THis gave them all jumbo-sized guilt complexes.
It is usually that way on primitive planets, before quantum causality is understood."

我做过的一件不可思议的事情
I lived in The Gambia and didn't see rain for 4 months. But that's not as crazy as living by the arctic circle in Alaska and not seeing darkness for 2 months.
教,学,和分享
I like to teach and learn from the rhythms of the world.
I also like owls. Here is a little owl-info. Owls not only have some of the best sight in the animal kingdom, but also some of the best hearing as well. Their ear holes are different sizes and offset from each other (asymmetrical) so that they can pin point exactly where a sound is coming from. Their facial disk acts as a satellite dish, channeling sound into their ears. In the winter Snowy owls and Great Grey Owls rely exclusively on their hearing to hunt mice that live in burrows under the snow, diving in talons-first to snatch their prey. Owls have four talons, three facing forward for grasping prey and one pointing backwards, which is considerably larger and used for puncturing prey: the death blow. But most animals never even hear the owl coming because their feathers are covered in tiny hair-like feathers that muffle the sound of their wings cutting through the air. So remember not to wear your grand dady's coon hat when taking a stroll through the woods at dusk because nothing is too big for an owl.
