About Me

CURRENT MISSION

In search of knowledge, kindness and compassion around the globe.

ABOUT ME

I'm a Seattle-based journalist who has used Couchsurfing to host, surf, and meet people during my travels over the past ten years.

I'm interested in meeting kind, interesting and optimistic people everywhere I go!

PHILOSOPHY

I always try to keep an open mind, and to exercise kindness, compassion and empathy. I think that life is meant to be enjoyed and experienced, and I plan on doing just that!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting, surfing...I love it!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed on a few trips in the U.S., and Japan, and while I backpacked throughout Europe for a few months in 2010. During my travels I met some awesome people who became life-long friends. I also hosted people when I lived in Shanghai, China for a couple of years.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Streaking on top of a snow-covered mountain in Alaska.
Dancing my fanny off until 10 a.m at the Berghain in Berlin.
Riding a camel to a small village in India's Thar desert, where I slept outside among the camels and goats under the stars.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm conversational in Mandarin so I can teach you the basics, although I'm a little rusty. I've been taking improv comedy classes for about a year and I've performed a couple times, so I can teach you some improv comedy games. Also, I'm really into exploring quirky towns and abandoned buildings, so I'll share an adventure with you!

I'd like to improve my beginner Spanish language skills, so I'd love to chat with people who are fluent or native speakers.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My cooking, basic Mandarin skills and good company!
