CURRENT MISSION
Honesty & connection.
ABOUT ME
I am a bit of a chameleon. I like to take a little bit of everything with me. I aim to be open to life and live with as much awareness of being blessed as I can. I enjoy many and on occasion seemingly discongruous things...
PHILOSOPHY
A quote seems to be in order:
"As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live."
It's from Herr Goethe, and I think reflects well that we have this innate inner voice which guides us; if we trust in it, in ourselves, and act accordingly. Which isn't always easy, but an awesome goal, and adventure.
Having said that, and everything else on here, I am human, I do get irate about people and happenings, I do swear, and I think that's all part and parcel.
Mostly I'm mellow, haha, and smiling.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Love the concept wholeheartedly.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had my first and only official CS experience in Hannover. A school friend I hadn't seen in ages contacted a lovely person who put us up, and basically showed me this whole new world.
In my family and through the friends of friends scheme I operate by I've been able to enjoy some wonderful hospitality here and there, but this was something else. A recognised community of fellow humans, out to learn and share...wow.
We met quite a few CS-ers, and were treated to dinner and conversation. I was almost overwhelmed by the friendly, interesting group that was assembled. So many different nationalities, ideas and lives all sitting around chatting and enjoying the moment....
Vielen Dank ihr Lieben, es war wirklich wunderschön!
Interests

Music, Movies, and Books
Yes. Quite a lot of these.
Douglas Adams is an eternal favourite..
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing...actually, I think it's witnessing and sometimes being a part of the transient, incapturable moments. Like seeing a couple in their 80s share a sneaky kiss in the street; when you're out and about in strange lands and the barrier falls away, and communication happens on a human level; when my niece cries "Tante Meli", or a stepping out of shell instance, like one stranger helping another one pick up their spilt groceries, whilst clowning like kids again. That's the stuff right there.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a dabbler in many things, and if anyone is keen I'll happily converse in any language I know about, ooh, anything; playing semantics, the horrors of reality television, where to grab a good coffee. I love to cook and bake, hike, anyone for tennis?, appreciate lots of arts, music; I know which end of a horse is which, how to laugh, listen, and talk rubbish. The latter preferably over a Scottish single malt. Or just share a comfortable silence.
