i enjoy showing people from out of town around the city i live in.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i have stayed on friends couches across the u.s., and regularly have friends or friends-of-friends on my couch. a few years ago i travelled in australia and new zealand where i did my first couchsurfing through this website. i loved it. i stayed with such generous, friendly, amazing people and had a rad time with all of them. they were all such unique situations, but each had things to offer that i wouldn't have found in a hostel.

Interests

i enjoy riding my bike, and went on a 600 mile bike trip along the west coast.
i like to cook, bake, play with kids, swim and make art.
i am interesting in sustainable living, chickens, gardening and greywater systems. someday i would like to have a house where i can grow my own food and have chickens and build a pond to swim in.
i like science, especially health and disease related topics.

Music, Movies, and Books

i love to read. i'm currently reading lot's of fantasy fiction like the tamir trilogy by lynne flewelling. some of my favorites are a tree grows in brooklyn, east of eden, and the poisonwood bible.

as far as movies go, i like most of them that don't have too much violence. raising victor vargas is a favorite, but i tend to forget about movies a few days after i watch them.

i was at the birth of a friends baby.

i do some mechanics on my bicycle, and also enjoy crafts like book-binding, sewing and making collages.
