ABOUT ME

It's never easy to describe oneself, but I will try.
My name is Sophia, I'm 18 years old and I finished my high school in Germany last summer. I've known for several years that I don't want to continue studying right after school, so I decided to go abroud for one year. Since 6 months now I'm living in Latvia, in a small town called Gulbene where I work as a volunteer.
I'm a very open-minded person and like to try out new things. I also like to get to know new cultures.
One thing I don't really like about myself is the fact that I'm very shy the first time I meet new people. I just need a little bit of time and then I'm more talkative! :)
Right now I don't know what else I could tell you about myself. If you have any questions just ask! :)

I'm new here, so no experience yet. :( But I really want to change that! :)

Interests

I'm a very diverse person therefore I have a lot of different interests.
My big love is dancing! I've been dancing ballet since I am 4 years old.
In general I enjoy music a lot. I've learned how to play the flute, the piano and the cello. :)
I also like handicrafts a lot: I sew, knit, crochet and do other creative things.
Another thing I enjoy is food. I like trying different kinds of food and love cooking. :)
I also like acting and theatre very much. At school I was part of the drama group where we performed A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Another big passion of mine is taking photos. When I go to new places you can always see me walking around with my camera! :)
But I'm also very interested in science and computers.
And of course one of my biggest interests is to travel and get to know this world we're living on. And I'm very interested in getting to know new cultures. I already met people from very different parts of Europe such as Portugal, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, France, England, Romania, Georgia, Turkey, Belarus, Latvia and Poland. I am very lucky to have a family which is also very interested in travelling and experiencing new cultures. Thus I've already been to many places in Europe, but I hope that soon I can say that I've been to many more. Now that I'm not living at home anymore I travel more with my friends than with my family, but I hope that soon we will do a family vacation again because it was always amazing! :)
