About Me
Hey everyone! I'm a 28 year old musician from Upstate New York with an appetite for living life to the fullest. In between working full time for an awesome solar company in Ithaca, NY and playing shows with my band, I try to find time to travel to beautiful destinations around the world and have so far been to Australia, New Zealand, England, Scotland, Canada, and 42 out of 50 States. I tend to center my trips around outdoors activities like: backpacking, snowboarding, surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, etc. It is this love of the outdoors that has brought me to some beautiful natural locations all over the world, and I am always looking for the chance to explore more. I'm very laid back by nature and almost never travel with any type of itinerary that is set in stone; the universe offers us real gems of experience, but you must be relaxed and centered in the moment to be able to detect and then flow with them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
While on a 32-day backpacking road trip of the United States in the summer of 2014, me and my travelling companions - one of whom is an avid Couch Surfer - used CS to secure a great overnight stay with a total stranger outside of Seattle, Washington. I was a little hesitant about the whole thing at first, but as soon as we met Mat and he started excitedely telling us about great places to visit around Seattle I could see why so many people world-wide are using this site. Although it took me a while to fire up my own account here on Couchsurfing after that experience, I am ready to start building friendships with amazing, like-minded souls around the world. Sharing is really what this existence is all about, and I look forward to both exposing anyone interested to my little section of the world, as well as meeting others who are willing to do the same.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I would have to say that the 32-day backpacking road trip in the summer of 2014 that I mentioned above is definitely at the top of my list. The whole point of the trip was to get off of the beaten path in over 13 of America's most beautiful national parks, and indeed, that's exactly what happened. Me and my travel companions backpacked in some of the most pristine wilderness that I have ever had the joy to experience. I've posted some of the pictures from this trip above, and please feel free to ask me anything about it!
What I Can Share with Hosts
There is so much more to New York State than the tiny, somewhat smelly, lower tip. I can't tell you how many times on my travels people have asked where I am from, and upon hearing me respond with, "New York", they immediately start talking about Central Park, Yankee Stadium, and many other things related to the City. Although I appreciate the city and travel there quite often to play music, comparing that "New York" to my area of New York is not even possible. The two are so different. If a host were to request to stay with me I would be showing them the natural beauty of the Finger Lakes area by hiking in the woods, exploring the vibrant communities that exist up in this part of the world, and taking them to some of the great original musical acts that are constantly growing out of this section of the world.
