About Me

I'm very independent, and have traveled a lot on my own. However, I love making new friends and joining in on spontaneous plans!

I would love getting involved with plans (if invited along by my host), but I am more than capable of making my own arrangements.

Traveling to me is all about getting involved with the local culture through food, social events, spectating sports, partying, exploring the landscape, camping, and making some good mates along the journey.

When traveling I prefer to spend my money on sharing a good meal or a few drinks with a new friend, rather than on activities and attractions.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Experience a new culture with local people, and make new friends.

Over the years I've realised I suck at making plans but get along with people I meet quite well. Recently, someone I met while hitchhiking recommended that I try couch surfing, and I can see how it would suit me, so here I am.

Interests

This may sound a bit bland, but my favourite thing to do when traveling is just to walk around a new place all day, getting lost; then finding a nice cafe or park, and sitting down to read a book, or write postcards, letters, and poems. Throw in a few drinks at the end of the day and I'm very content :)

Music, Movies, and Books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiked my way around New Zealand's south island.

Solo hiked the Australian Alps Walking Track.

Cycled from Birmingham to Barcelona. Good times!

Teach, Learn, Share

If I haven't done it before, I'll be keen to try it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A bottle of wine on arrival, and some exceptional company :-)!!!

I'm also happy to cook, tidy up, walk your dog, feed the chooks, mow the lawn, etc. Pretty much whatever I can do to help you out, it's all a part of the experience for me!

I am currently traveling with a tent, sleeping bag, and sleeping mat. I am very self-sufficient. So even if you can provide a patch of grass in your yard for me to camp in, I will be stoked!!!
