ABOUT ME

I'm a hardworking but easy-going kind of guy. I love to laugh with good friends and meet new people. I love to travel and normally prefer to go to places most people wouldn't ordinarily choose to travel. Sure I love seeing popular places, but as you will see from my previous and planned travel locations, exploring countries and locations that are not on your normal Kontiki itinerary are more likely to get me excited :)

It seems I am ALWAYS busy with my pretty demanding job. When not tied up with work, I am usually busy planning the next adventure away! I am a very keen cyclist and only wish I could spend more time out on my bike. I love speaking Spanish but rarely get the time to do so. Socialising with friends is high on the priority list and I love having friends over for dinner.

I am a keen touring cyclist and most trips of recent are centred around getting out on the bike for a few days or weeks. I love hiking and outdoor activities and try to take as many small adventure holidays as I can in any given year. I a, particularly passionate about Tasmania, Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Latin America!

PHILOSOPHY

I am a Christian and feel blessed that God has given me the chance to see so many new and amazing places and meet so many incredible people along the way. I have been really blessed with many people from many backgrounds as close friends and just wish I had more time to spend with them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to host old and new members of Couchsurfing. We've hosted many more people than our references list describe however I've only stayed with a few people myself in the process but hope to do so more as we continue to explore the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Almost always positive! Most Couchsurfers tend to be easy going and self-sufficient, so the burden on us as hosts is pretty minimal. This works pretty well for us given our other committments.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'll watch or listen to pretty much anything. I love reading too but hardly have time, my work and travels keep me pretty busy! I'm typically into action movies and read when I can action/survival stories. I also have some bizarre fascination with novels about submarines. I think that's the technical guy in me coming through :) Always keen to hear about the latest adrenaline junkie out there...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Riding my bicycle right through the Chernobyl evacuation zone on a tour of Eastern Europe from Finland to Albania. An incredible experience.
