About Me

Hi, I’m Phil, I’m an Australian living in Turkey.
I am married and I have a five-year-old son. My father is Scottish and my mother is Dutch, so I am a person of the world.

At the moment I live on the west-coast of Turkey in a seaside town called Ayvalık and I own a sports and rehabilitation clinic where I work with my wife. I also volunteering as an English teacher at my sons school.

I love travelling and whenever I can, I try to see new places. I've spent a lot of time in Asia, and the Middle-East as well as the Balkans and most of Europe and the UK.

Aside from the work mentioned above, I also have a bachelors degree in political science (international relations & peace and conflict studies) as well as a masters of terrorism and security from the Australian Graduate School of Policing and Security in Canberra. I also for a brief period studied law, specifically international and humanitarian law.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share

I have studied health science, political science, law, religion, history and philosophy, we will always find something to talk about and discuss.

Today my main interests are history, political philosophy and philosophy in general over the last number of years I have mostly steered towards Russian literary history as well as political and art history in the Russian context. I’m still unsure as to why though.
