to welcome volunteers, tourists, professionals and all world-wide kinds of visitors from abroad who will be hosted in the village and be treated to typical African hospitality and generosity for the purpose of social integration and inter-cultural immersion.
we are currently running Academy in Kenya is providing hope and inspirations to orphans and needy children in western Kenya of ages 3-15 years. The school provides pre-school and primary education to a current population of 200 pupils and the number is increasing drastically. The school is managed by a board of seven people who are either guardians or members of the community who are people of high integrity and outstanding experience. The Academy is situated in Homa Bay County on the shores of Lake Victoria, a region where HIV/AIDS prevalence rate is 30 percent, one of the highest regions in Kenya affected by the epidemic. The pandemic socio-economic impacts are very severe in producing the following consequences namely: loss of human resources i.e skills, talents and labour, most affected are highly educated and intellectuals in their prime years of life. The epidemic has caused an increased over dependency ratio resulting into extreme poverty in the existing extended family cycles in Africa and particularly in Luo community where we the Academy is birthed. Insecurity has also became a big challenge

Other impacts of the epidemic are emergence of thousands of orphans, street children, beach boys and girls, the poor widows and widowers, the elderly and child-headed house-holds after the demise of their beloved ones.

The Academy bridges the socio-economic gap by providing holistic education and providing a home like atmosphere to the children by offering other basic needs which
includes, food, clothing, shelter, medical and social care. Currently the school gets its financial and material support from well wishers both locally and internationally. All our support is based on trust, honesty and accountability. We always welcome volunteers and all people who are willing to make either short or long term relationship with the school.

The school needs urgently funds to support the orphans feeding programme, purchase of necessary school equipment and supplies and also to pay teachers and supportive staff salaries. We are also open for material support such as books, pens, playing gears and crayons.

There are ample opportunities for hiking, boating, fishing, bird-watching, sun-set watching, mountaineering, picnicking, visit to the nearby Ruma National Park with some wildlife species. We recommend you to visit also some beautiful and legendary Islands on Lake Victoria, the geysers on main land or visit Tom Mboya’s Mausoleum on Rusinga Island.

From 2 week up to 3 months or more.
Bureaucratic Conditions
As soon as you land at the Nairobi International Airport Jomo Kenyatta you will be given a tourist visa valid for 90 days (3months) at the cost of 50$ (Us dollars). If asked you should say you are a tourist, not that you are coming to work because for this activity the authorities normally require other and more complicated procedures, unnecessary for you.
Charges
5$ (US Dollars) or 4€ (Euro) per person per day.
