About Me
Director of five weird movies. Coffee lover. Art is my religion.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Whenever I travel, I want to meet real people. I want to get to know how they live, what they dream about, where they go. Life's too short to be spent among tourists. Art's purpose is to capture life itself, to create truth by mirroring the world – I want to be inspired by other people. And maybe, just maybe, I have the chance to inspire someone myself...

Music, Movies, and Books
MOVIES
The movies I love are bizarre and surrealistic. However, I want them to deal with psychologically believable characters. CONFESSIONS (Japan, 2010) for instance fulfills all I want in a good film. SUSPIRIA (Italia, 1977) is another example of a visually stunning movie that loves its characters. In THE DUKE OF BURGUNDY (GB, 2015) a couple has to deal with different expectations from a relationship, something anyone can relate to. However, the movie feels over the top at times, it's too harmonic, too unreal – it's like a beautiful picture book thatÄs accompanied by a lovely, transcendental soundtrack.
My favorite directors include: Pedro Almodóvar, Luis Buñuel, Joel & Ethan Coen, Peter Greenaway, David Lynch, Sion Sono, Francois Truffaut (alphabetical order)
MUSIC
Let's keep it short this time: I'm deeply lost in an era half a century ago. I love the early pop by Joe Meek, I can't sit still when I listen to good old-fashioned Rock'n'Roll, I'm inspired by Rockabilly and Country, too. But mostly I'm in love with anything psychedelic: Of course I can't stop listening to Pink Floyd. Apart from that I change between The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Iron Butterfly, Jefferson Airplan, Jimi Hendrix and a couple of others. And I adore those who adapt that style for modern times: Angelo Badalamenti with the Twin Peaks score, Lana del Rey and a couple of others.
One more thing: Electronical stuff really makes me happy. Not the mainstream things, but – yet again – the bizarre kind. Best example would be Mr. Oizo.
BOOKS
Okay, as you've realised by now, I'm really not the type to be brief. It doesn't come as a surprise that my all-time favourite book is, indeed, about a thousand pages long: It's THE MAGIC MOUNTAIN by Thomas Mann. I even think about turning it into a TV series. Maybe I have the chance to do that sometime. Other books I've enjoyed within the last couple of months include GO SET A WATCHMAN, THE TALENTED MISTER RIPLEY and CAPITAL. I've also been pursuing a long term project for the last few years: Reading everything by Stephen King.
