About Me

I am keen for adventure and to enjoy life. I am active and outgoing and have taken time out from my career to travel and and learn more about the world. I enjoy music - live, recorded and playing guitar, having fun, cooking, reading, seeing a film now and again, walking in nature and exploring new places. I also enjoy socialising, conversation and having a good laugh. I am clean and tidy, organised and fit in with the household at which I am staying. I am single and have been travelling and couchsurfing extensively through a large network of friends on the east coast of Australia since September 2017. As well as touring Australia, I have also toured the US twice and spent a month in Bali in 2018.

I am new to Couchsurfers and I am looking forward to getting involved in the community plus offering accommodation when I return to Australia.
A friend has written a reference that is included below.

"I've known Phil Parker for more than 15years. In 2005 he helped me organise a benefit concert to raise money for people with a disability. Phil's generosity of spirit and honesty is a hallmark of our friendship. His good character is beyond question. Phil has a healthy lifestyle and doesn't drink or smoke. In short, he is a tremendous fellow! I have no hesitation in giving him my strongest recommendation".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The Couchsurfing community is a great network for people like myself travelling alone to new places. When I am on the road I like to meet locals and discover the heart of a place through their eyes and experience. I am keen to learn about cultures other than my own and share Australian culture with others. Couchsurfing is a great way to easily connect with like minded people in a new city - for friendship and local knowledge
