About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To raise a new human! I can't host at the moment as I have a baby due in the next couple weeks! Still possibly available for coffee if you're passing through, but with extra shifts and a possible new human in the house at any moment: I simply can't commit my couch to you.

ABOUT ME
I play ultimate frisbee. I'm also a Nurse. I work in emergency.
I ride a motorbike. That's what I do.

Next trip: Fatherhood!
Last trip: Japan! January 2016 for a month or so to ski and Onsen it up!

My most recent adventures saw me quit my job, give away my stuff and embark on a beard-growing motorcycle adventure with my sister. We went from the Top to the Bottom: headed up past the Arctic Circle in Alaska, all the way to the south of Argentina. It took 20 months, and I look forward to the next one.

Both my sister and I are avid Ultimate players, and looking to play some disc along the way in life.

PHILOSOPHY

Do it now before you're too old and know better.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My buddy Jordan used couch surfing many times during his WALK from Canada to Mexico, and had nothing but glowing reviews for couchsurfing. I hosted as many folks as I could before I started this journey. Now we're popping in from time to time on a quest to find the perfect couch. But it's not the couches we sleep on or even the places we stay, it's the people of couchsurfing that keeps us coming back for another fix.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted several folks at my house in Vancouver before I got rid of everything and hopped on the motorcycle. Have now surfed from Fairbanks, Alaska, USA to Ushuaia, Argentina and many in between! Several surfs with friends along the way as well. We had other couch "attempts", but sadly breakdowns kept us sleeping on the side of the road instead.
Love meeting new folks and the great tips they bring to the table for travel and life!

Now back and established again in Vancouver, I'm in a much smaller place with more difficulty hosting. Our new couch might change this :)

Music, Movies, and Books

-"The Eternal Frontier". Interesting read!
-"The Adventure motorcyclists handbook". Perhaps should have read this BEFORE I left on this trip, but interesting insight and good planning tips if you're looking at doing a trip.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the Bats return to the cave in the early morning at Carlsbad caverns in New Mexico. An incredible slow crescendo of activity building into mayhem, in a beautiful place.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am an Emergency nurse. I've seen a lot of things. I can change the way you'll look at an apple for the rest of your life.
I've also figured out how to make poutine on the road. If I can find oxo cubes and potatoes, you can join me as I try to perfect it.

Countries I’ve Visited
