About Me

I'm currently finishing up the last course of my mechanical engineering degree in Vancouver while pursuing my passions of photography and the outdoors. I'm an easygoing guy who loves the outdoors, adventure and meeting new people!

My parents are Irish and Italian so I'm lucky enough to have tri-citizenship and I was actually the first Canadian in my family. Although I grew up in the prairies, I'm definitely a mountain man and spend as much time in the mountains as I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Starting couch surfing while on exchange in NZ and look forward to continuing it all around the world. I've met some awesome people through couch surfing and can't wait to meet more. I've recommended couch surfing to countless friends and I really think it's one of the best ways to travel.

My current living situation doesn't allow me to host couch surfers but I'm still happy to meet up with people visiting Vancouver and show them around. I'm usually out exploring the local mountains on the weekends so let me know if you want to tag along.

Interests

Snowboarding is my passion but I'm into anything outdoors (climbing, whitewater, hiking, mountain biking), photography, travel, and (live) music. I studied mechanical engineering in school and am passionate about sustainability and hope to someday work in renewable energy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first thing that comes to mind happened in Abel Tasman National Park in New Zealand. I was on a sea kayaking trip for the weekend and it happened to line up perfectly with the full moon. After spending a few hours hanging out on the beach in the moonlight we decided to take the kayaks out on the bay for a moonlight paddle. We found a narrow crevice in the rock just wide enough for a single kayak and at the end about 10 meters in were glow worms. The glow worms topped of an already amazing experience kayaking on the ocean in the middle of the night and were a great prize for a bit of exploring.

Teach, Learn, Share

As an engineer I'm a bit of a techy and I'm pretty handy with a camera. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have and/or show you a thing or two about photography.

I always love learning new things so hopefully you have something to share too!
