About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To Host Amazing People In Our Awesome House
ABOUT ME
Grew up and went to college in Iowa before moving to Japan to teach English for almost 2 years. Decided I'd rather make movies than go to law school so I found a short video production program in Seattle. Got a job at a television production company working on documentary/travel shows. Fell in love with Seattle. Love getting to the mountains, hiking and camping. Have made incredible friends here, most of whom live in my house or just a few blocks away.
PHILOSOPHY
On my back I have a tattoo in Japanese that translates to "I am here," which basically sums up my life philosophy. Always be present in the moment so you never fail to see the beauty and opportunity surrounding you at all times.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting loads of people passing through Seattle, hopefully.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
One of my roommates has a CS account and we've had quite a few people through the house this last year. Had great experiences and hope to have even more people stay with us in the future.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Anything good. I watch 3 or 4 movies every week. One of my passions and hopefully I'll be making one soon.
Music: Bon Iver, Iron and Wine, The Kinks, The Beatles, Beirut, Jose Gonzales, MIA
Books: Anything by Marquez, Kerouac, Chandler, Kawabata or Neruda.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ziplined through the Laotian jungles at the Gibbon Experience. An amazing project that helps preserve the forest, provide jobs to local villagers and prevent poaching in Northern Laos. Wonderful people, breathtaking scenery and amazing amounts of fun careering through the jungle 300 feet above the ground. You sleep in tree houses and in the mornings the gibbons call sounds like a space battle. One of the most surreal and incredible things I've ever heard.
Teach, Learn, Share
Our house contains an animator, architect, stylist, TV producer, wildman artist, IT specialist, Whole Foods employee, biology major/real estate mogul (owns a couple communal buildings), band member and college student, so we should be able to impart some knowledge.
Countries I’ve Visited
Australia, Cambodia, Canada, China, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Laos, Mexico, Nepal, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Viet Nam
Countries I’ve Lived In
Japan, United States
