About Me

Hey folks!

Last year I finally started what I always wanted to do and went abroad after finishing school in Germany to discover our big world and went to Canada and the USA for one year.
After twelve long years in German High School that definitely was and still is 'Living the Dream' for me and I enjoy every moment of spending time in a foreign country, gaining many new experiences, meeting people from all around the globe and just having a great time!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard about Couchsurfing for the very first time when I came to Canada last year. But it does not take long to figure out that this is one of the best ways to explore a city and it's surroundings and get to know awesome people.

I love the idea of people offering a place to sleep for other travellers, mostly because they found themselves in the same situation before.
In case I settle down somewhere sooner or later I will definitely offer a place to sleep too, because I know by now how hard it can be when you have to survive on a low budget but do not want to lose the chance for great experiences.

Interests

Going out into the wild, exploring the bush, going on a hike or skiing or fishing or paddling down a river ... these are things that you get me with :-) Especially after living in the middle of nowhere of Northern Canada for very long ...

But I also like meeting up with people and exploring a big city, experiencing a cultural exchange with people from all around the world and just socialize and have a good time together!

Of course there are some of the usual things that I cannot live without ... tasty food, a good book, my friends around me ...

However, one of my biggest interest is enjoying the time when I am travelling, living for the moment but also getting ready for a next big adventure. Life is short, the world is big!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After a long time away from home and travelling across different countries it is hard to find this very one amazing thing I have done. I would say there is a whole bunch of cool things that I went through. Like ...

... several trips through the USA in my own car, driving down the lonely highways with awesome sceneries for miles and miles
... a skiing trip in the Rocky Mountains
... summer and winter in the Yukon, Canada
... living in a cabin in the bush with moose and bears stopping by daily
... driving up the Dempster Highway in a Mini-Van

... and many more!

Teach, Learn, Share

Treat other people with the concern and kindness you would like them to show toward you!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Basically I am a big fan of good conversations about anything new and interesting. Silence would not be very common :-)

I enjoy cooking and food in general. Maybe I could be your man for some German recipes.

Any impressive or fascinating stories about travels or journeys in the past? I would love to hear them and tell you mine. In my opinion one of the best things about travelling is listening to other peoples stories and let them inspire you for your own next trip.
