I am Philipp, actually working as a volunteer in a community project in the South African township Soweto close to Johannesburg. I work with kids from the community who come after school to get some warm meal and afternoon-programs to keep them off the streets. Furthermore I am responsible for the IT and communication with our partners.
In my spare time I enjoy being with my local friends and other volunteers who came with me from Germany, they are like a family for me. I am living with an awesome South African roommate I spend a lot of time with. I enjoy going out with my friends, meet new people, enjoy fresh food and drinks. I really enjoy working in my workshop, build things on my own, fix whatever got damaged and help people out who can't do that on their own. I like to be busy and have people around me!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I would like to discover the world by travelling to other peoples homes and places and also host visitors from far and close in my home. I think that couchsurfing is a great way to experience a country with all its facets and details and a possibility to get a good start when visiting unknown places. Since I am working in South Africa I really enjoyed company of locals showing me their places and integrating me in their community. Without my local friends and co-workers I would not have seen South Africa the way I see it now. I hope to make the same experience while staying at other couchsurfers homes and to make friends with them!
