About Me

Hello!

My name is Philippa. I'm 30 years old and live in London. I am a contemporary classical pianist and screenwriter/director - just starting out!

I am a sociable and open minded person and have travelled extensively throughout my life. I really enjoy meeting people from other countries and sharing cultures!

I have lots of interests and hobbies. A few being Thai kickboxing, chess, reading, cooking, spoken word poetry and meditation. And of course, music and film!

I have been a practising Buddhist for 7 years, and this is a big part of my life and the values I hold. I'd be more than happy to talk with you about this, and even lead some meditation if you wanted and haven't practised before.

I am vegan and have worked as a chef in the past so I cook pretty great vegan meals if I do say so myself!! I have Indian heritage so I was taught to cook delicious curry by my grandma 😊

I'm respectful and considerate and would ensure to be a great CS guest. More than happy to chip in with cleaning, house upkeep and helping out where I can. I am grateful to anyone who opens their homes up to strangers. I think it's an incredibly lovely thing to do!

I really enjoy meaningful discussions, but also enjoy laughing!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really want to get to know local people and experience the real side of a country! And share who I am and experiences I have had also. I think CS is a really cool concept and feels like a truer way to travel to other countries

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a love of electronic music, though I rarely listen to it nowadays! I mostly listen to contemporary classical, like Nils Frahm, Olafur Arnaulds, Federico Albanese. I also used to love heavy metal and still have a place in my heart for it!

Books, I mostly read a lot of non-fiction these days. I particularly love the work of Carl Jung and have read Dreams and Man and His Symbols this year. Phenomenal! And Gabor Mate is also incredible. I read a lot of Lee Child a few years back and definitely enjoy a good crime thriller!

Movies, I love psychological thrillers, crime thrillers, dramas and especially films based on civil war. Favourites would be The Good Lie, Unsane, Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Fight Club, Get Out

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling through South America, making my first ever film!

Teach, Learn, Share

I would be happy to discuss Buddhism with you, teach you to meditate, teach you vegan cooking, and Thai style kickboxing!
