About Me

I am a fun loving free spirit who loves to travel. I have tried to combine working and travelling, leaving my job as an emergency medicine doctor in London to work as an expedition and humanitarian medic in every location I can find around the world. So far I have been taken to a leprosy hospital in India, a neurosurgical unit in Nepal, Paediatric hospital in the Philippines and I have been the medic for a group of marine biologists in Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. In June I am moving to start a new life in Bocas Del Toro, Panama to work alongside a great team at Floating Doctors. I love the outdoors and love finding new ridiculous challenges especially if it involves a long hike or some mountains.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would love to find a new way of connecting with locals on my future travels.
I always find that hostels are full of other travellers (and whilst that is pretty awesome in itself) I would love to sometimes chat with the locals and get a real feel for the place, especially on longer trips.
I was inspired by two awesome people (Nic & Kevfrom Edinburgh - if you're on here, HI!) who made me miss all the social events at my conference to stay and hangout in their awesome flat and chat away all weekend.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love most types of music but after living with two pretty awesome musicians, I definitely have a soft spot for anything with live guitar.
Reggaeton
I love a good singalong around the bonfire.
Paulo Coelho is my inspiration.
Most one quote a day book comes with me everywhere, as does Simba.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Worked at a health camp in Gorkha Nepal

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you to fall over attempting to handstand
I have some pretty hilarious patient stories (all personal data removed)
I make a pretty good espresso martini
If you don't already meditate, let's share the magic!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my passion and enthusiasm for life. I love adventure and I love pushing my boundaries, always trying new things and getting outdoors.
I love meeting people who actually live in a place. Finding out where you can get the best coffee, where to watch the sunrise or what trails have the most awesome view.
