关于我

I am out to explore and experience our great planet and the people and cultures that inhabit it! While the location doesn't change who I am, it definitely has the ability to help me embrace reality beyond all the distractions. I'm doing my best to find enjoyment in the journey, and stop thinking that there is any earthly location that is my destination.

When I need to relax my soul, you will find me in a hammock, browsing my own mind as it's a never ending web of oddities and questions about the deep pieces of life. I love asking questions that will require you to actually think, because I'm not a fan of walking through this life without personal purpose.

Couchsurfing changed my life. And this isn't some voodoo phrasing. After too many years of thinking I was a strong introvert, I discovered that my life was missing a web of authentic friendships. My first attempt using Couchsurfing was trying to find some snow skiing buddies. Honestly, I didn't understand the mentality behind the platform and nothing worked out. However, during that attempt, I discovered couch crashes, one of which was a relatively short drive for me. It stuck in my head. Outside of controlled situations, I experienced some pretty heavy anxiety being in/around adults groups, so I was never very serious about actually attending. Two days before it started, a podcast pushed me to honestly consider it. I realized I needed to stop playing life so guarded and safe and stepped out of my comfort zone and joined the infamous Omaha CouchCrash, where I discovered how genuine & accepting people of this planet truly can be. They rocked my world and helped me start to shed the armor I had built around myself. While I still have some struggles being in large groups, my anxiety levels are now so much lower that I've been able to manage them on the spot and start authentically enjoying being social, which I've never experienced in my life. Like I said, life changing.

I ended up attending five crashes in 2022. Each one has brought me to more doors to open… re-found my love to dance without being so concerned with what others thought, learned to lead and take charge, and learned to start speaking up for my own wants and needs.

The growth that I have found through CouchCrashes has had a compounding effect. I am no longer a quiet introvert. I still prefer my smaller groups, but I have found the ability to be comfortable in situations that I didn’t dare put myself in 5 months ago before I started these.

I have so many people to thank for being a part of my progress. If you are reading this, you are likely one who has contributed in some way to my growth.

I know that you can only absorb what you are ready to absorb, I am excited to move past my social anxiety and discover new ways to change my life. Here's to hoping that the next change is around the bend!

音乐、电影和书籍

If it doesn't make me think to open up for learning, I don't watch it. I like reading 10 minutes at a time. And I enjoy all types of music. Screamo is the only one that's never fit in my life. Otherwise, I love experiencing new things and am open to almost anything!!!
