About Me
'About Me' sections are the absolute bane of my life, but here goes!
I'm Phill, I live in Manchester while I study at uni but my hometown is a small market town in England.
I’m a third year Psychology student, so love things around identity and body image - I’m currently doing my dissertation on men in burlesque! While I’m not trying to slave away at my laptop or books, I work with my university in helping educate kids about higher education and help break down those barriers which might hold them back from their future.
Being brought up in a small town in the countryside doesn't give you many experiences, so with traveling, I want to see the sights and people. And maybe make some friends along the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing will be a first but when I finally make the leap to travel I think it will be a great platform to find likeminded people and hopefully make good connections and experiences. Definitely memories that I can hold for the rest of my life.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books, where do I start? I am an impulsive buyer when it comes to books (tell a lie... Everything). My favourite genre to read tend to be horror and sci-fi, I absolutely love authors like Stephen King, Edgar Allan Poe, John Wyndham.
With movies it's pretty much the same. horror and sci-fi are my absolute go to when I have time. But I'll happily watch comedies, action and whatever is on offer. A few of my favourite movies are Psycho, Pan's Labyrinth, Perks of Being A Wallflower, Shaun of the Dead.
Music is universal, so I will give anything a go! Especially love Björk and Sufjan Stevens at the moment.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Leaving my hometown before uni to go to Iceland by myself; flying for the very first time on a plane and exploring Reykjavik was incredible.
Teach, Learn, Share
If I can be taught and learn anything, I'll snatch your arm off for that opportunity! Whether that's about your country, culture or anything. Hopefully I can return the favour, even if it is odd facts or opinions - I'm not argumentative but will happily debate to fight my corner ;)
Wherever I end up, hopefully I can share some memories with you and make a lasting impression.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A part of my life with them; whether that's having them in my journey along the way, stories and most of all, good memories :)
As well as respecting a host's home and doing whatever I can to help out like cleaning or cooking.
