About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To continue my Spanish education whilst getting a law degree

ABOUT ME

Timothy Leary says it better than I ever could -

"Admit it. You aren't like them. You're not even close. You may occasionally dress yourself up as one of them, watch the same mindless television shows as they do, maybe even eat the same fast food sometimes. But it seems that the more you try to fit in, the more you feel like an outsider, watching the "Ënormal people" as they go about their automatic existences. For every time you say club passwords like "œHave a nice day" and "œWeather's awful today, eh?" you yearn inside to say forbidden things like "Tell me something that makes you cry" or "What do you think deja vu is for?" Face it, you even want to talk to that girl in the elevator. But what if that girl in the elevator (and the balding man who walks past your cubicle at work) are thinking the same thing? Who knows what you might learn from taking a chance on conversation with a stranger? Everybody carries a piece of the puzzle. Nobody comes into your life by mere coincidence. Trust your instincts. Do the unexpected. Find the others."

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in trying to experience the full spectrum of human emotion, both the good and the bad.

I believe in giving everyone and everything a chance.

I believe, most importantly, that if you can at all avoid it, don't be normal. Strive, burn and do everything you can to avoid being the industry standard. Even the highest industry standard. Be greater than anything anyone else has ever dreamed of you. Don't settle for pats on the back, salary increases, a nod-and-a-smile. Instead, rage against the tepidness of the mundane with every fiber of whatever makes you, you. Change this place.

"When a resolute young fellow steps up to the great bully, the world, and takes him boldly by the beard, he is often surprised to find it comes off in his hand, and that it was only tied on to scare away the timid adventurers."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I get involved. I will always be the first to put my hand up and say yes - whether it is to another round of drinks or to a cultural trip in the city. I look to expand my horizons at all times, and to do that I get involved in everything that I can.

On a more logistical front - I will always clean up; make my bed; prepare food, cook food, or clean up afterwards; I will always help and will never do a job half-heartedly. If I am going to do something I will always do it properly.

I have a desire to learn - whether that be learning a language, a life skill, an instrument, or just a life lesson. I never waste a second of my day.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have Couchsurfed around Spain and Argentina and am hoping to host people when I return to Manchester!

I have met some wonderful people through Couchsurfing who have become friends for life. Because of Couchsurfing I now know that I am not alone as one of the searchers in this world - seeking life lessons, like-minded people, wisdom and adventure. I am excited to become part of the community

Interests

In surrounding myself with inspirational people. In never stopping the search. In never giving in to normality and the mundane. In being inspired. In saying yes. In learning to know myself. In photography. In human rights. In social justice. In Hunter S. Thompson, Ernest Hemingway, and Truman Capote. In food, cocktails, wine and rum.

In hurling myself into the abyss and discovering its a feather bed.
