About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be, because not being would be, well, pointless.

ABOUT ME

I am, um, musical. I also like reading, movies, hanging out with friends, playing video games, you know, human things. I am in no way an alien.

I snowboard whenever I can and then finish a day of that with a cold one.

Not that those things really describe me, other than to show you certain interests we might share. So...

I'm a carefree, relaxed individual who likes to laugh and is always ready to joke, but not necessarily tell a joke. I can never remember any good ones. I pray my wit saves me in every situation.

Ok, enough of this, onward to the next.... thingie.

PHILOSOPHY

Why do I live my life? What's the point of life?

To laugh, love friends and family, create good, stand up to and destroy evil, do the right thing, call out those who do wrong, and generally make the world a better place for those who follow us.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Just like to meet people and make new friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The Amsterdam madness of April 2007 with a wonderful couple, Amieke and Kristiaan (and I hope I'm spelling his name correctly), was the first CS experience I've had. They were gracious hosts and very friendly. The best memory I have from the trip was when they stopped to help an elderly woman who had dropped some things on the ground. It was an amazing display of humanity!

Music, Movies, and Books

I have an eclectic musical taste, ranging from Carl Orff to Radiohead to Surfjan Stevens to indie rock bands from the US or wherever.
Movies, from directors like Richard Linklater or Tarantino, are good. Uwe Boll can DIAF.
Kurt Vonnegut is my hero.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first night I was in China, my sister, brother-in-law and his brother, and I were in Tianemen [sic?] Square. There was a crowd gathered there, hundreds of people strong, with a feeling of tension that hides behind the shutters. We stood in the crowd, chatting with each other and waiting to hear the news that would shape Bejing over the next few years.

Finally, the annoucement was made and it was decreed that Bejing would host the 2008 Olympics.

Frivolity and joyous madness ensued.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can play the guitar for you and teach you a chord or two to get you on the road to learning. Fairly well.
I would like to learn whatever you can share.
I also can teach English as a Foreign/Second Language. I can do simple electronic repairs.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands, United Kingdom
