About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see beautiful places and walk a lot...
ABOUT ME
Both born and raised in Switzerland we are big lovers of nature, though we enjoy the big city experience as well, love visiting new places, going to museums, walking, hiking, biking, talking to people, going to movies, trying new restaurants, cooking, laughing.
We are both curious, love spontaneous plans that materialize, and are willing to try almost everything at least once.
PHILOSOPHY
still working on that one...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Our experiences couchsurfing have easily been some of the best times during all of our travels; we have been hosted by some of the friendliest, funniest, hospitable people in the world, and have enjoyed many unforgettable moments, all positive. We have not hosted as much as we would like to so far, but are currently waiting for requests :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Big movie lovers, some favorites include: Fight Club, Memento, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, The Game, Across The Universe, Finding Neverland, Das Experiment, Lola Rennt, Rear Window, LOTR, Forrest Gump, Love Actually, The Matrix, Lord of War, The Kite Runner, Little Miss Sunshine, and any kind of interesting documentary
We love reading when we have the time...
Mel's favorites include: To Kill a Mockingbird, Candide, Of Mice and Men, Homo Faber, Dreigroschenoper, Pride and Prejudice, and poetry by Robert Frost and D.H. Lawrence
When it comes to music, we love pretty much everything, it just depends on the mood.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2008. we quit our jobs (well, Phil was the only one with the serious job between the two of us, at that time), reduced our material goods to less than 20 boxes (of which most contained Mel's books), moved out of our apartment, and spent ten months wearing the same pants in Asian countries. Hooked to traveling, we are now enjoying a settled moment for a few years, hoping to repeat the adventure in some other part of the world sometime soon.
Teach, Learn, Share
Phil: Since I work in the field, I can handle anything that has to do with computers... you need only ask, though I must warn, that I will most likely suggest you get a mac if you don't already have one!
Mel: Love to talk to people and share experiences, enjoy being around and spending time with children, and can do English/German translations where needed. Can also clean, and love ironing if you own one of those professional irons. (I guess the cleaning thing is a bit random, but I seriously don't mind doing it if I have the time...)
