ABOUT ME

INTP - On the Myers-Briggs

Adventurous, smart, even-tempered, truth-seeking, friendly, quirky, likable, open-minded, patient, creative, make my own rules.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I couch surfed for about three months in the summer during college. Then from June to October of 2009 I did the same as an experiment in preparation to leave for South America. Unfortunately I never made it. I still have the dream of being able to work anywhere in the world I can get a wi-fi connection.

7/15/22 - Update: Since March 2020, I've been able to work anywhere I can with a wi-fi connection. My dream finally did come true! I bought a house and got married in Dec. 2020. I moved from Dallas. Now I live in East Texas.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swimming off of Red Frog island near Boca Del Toro I saw an amazing starfish in the crystal clear water. I captured a photo with a starfish using an underwater camera.

Meeting Richard Branson and Francis Ford Coppola.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Update 7/15/22
I currently live in Sulphur Springs, Texas, which is 90 miles east of Dallas. I own a two-story house with plenty of space. I have added several beds and am adding more. We currently run AiBnB, but may also include some Couchsurfing from time to time.

Update on 7/27/18

I no longer live in DOWNTOWN DALLAS, but around 20 minutes away. My apartment is a 15 minute walk to a public transportation train station (DART) that will take you directly there. Read below. I can still help with all of those things below and wouldn't mind showing you around a bit.

==============
My residence is in DOWNTOWN DALLAS on the 9th floor of a residential skyscraper. Truly, you can't get anymore downtown than this, and only a block away from the light rail (DART) - your key to getting around Dallas on the cheap ($5 to ride all day). At night, you can hang out on the 21st floor and be surrounded by the photo-worthy cityscape. In the summer, you can swim in the quaint pool, also located on the 21st floor.

Less than a 1/2 a mile from what Dallas is known for - JFK Museum, Memorial, Grassy Knoll, and notorious "X" on the road where the President was shot - you don't even need Uber or public trans to check it out. Another close by attraction is the Joule Hotel, which houses the Midnight Rambler, Mark Cuban's favorite basement bar. My residence is less than a mile from Deep Ellum, the music venue district of Dallas, where you can catch a band on almost any night.

If it's art you crave, you'll be only a hop, skip, and a jump from what's called the Arts District of Dallas, of where some of the major museums and sculpture centers reside. On your way to absorb some culture, you may want to grab a bite to eat from your choice of food trucks, which are permanently fixed alongside Kyle Warren Park (Dallas' Central Park).

I publish a digital Arts + Entertainment magazine exclusively about Dallas. I can give you the scoop on what to do, where to go, and especially where to eat, even if you're just visiting for one day. I don't mind sharing with you my opinion on what is the:

Best Barbecue in Dallas (one spot is less than a mile away)
Best Skyline Views (one is a quick light rail ride away)
Best Indie Movie Theater

I am a young-at-heart guy that enjoys seeking out novelty and meeting folks from around the world. I'm positive, open-minded, and love learning about other cultures and people.

I grew up in small town, and have lived in Dallas for 15 years.
