About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Being amazed everyday, and be able to share it with as many people as possible.

ABOUT ME

I'm a young and adventurous 38 years old special education teacher. From a adventure guide and hard worker in the tourism industry, I went back to school at 30y.o for a university degree (4 years) in special education teaching. I wanted to do something useful in life. So I have been teaching to kids who have special needs, disabilities, learning difficulties, etc. for 5 years now, and I think it's the best thing I can do to help in life.
The world has so many things to teach me; I cannot indulge myself in this north-american type of living. Life has been as life is: sometimes good, sometimes hard, but always rich in meanings. I believe the more we give to life, better we get in decrypting it's signs.
I'm always on the move, finding projects and off-the-grid adventures. I believe I cannot be comfy too much or too long. I'm currently on a one year break, and will be traveling south by motorcycle. I live and breathe to be on a bike and be amazed and surprised like a kid in front of new things, by all nice places and people I meet.
I sold everything (or so) that I own to finance this trip, and I'm still on a really tight budget... that's what adventure touring is about anyways, isn't it ?
I leave Whitehorse, Yukon, in early september 2014, and planning to get to south Argentina... exactly by the time I get there !
I'm originally french Canadian, but I'm fluent in english. I want to learn and practice spanish on my way. I took few lessons back in the days, but never really had the occasion to practice...

PHILOSOPHY

When life's throwing things at you that you don't want, it means there's something you need to learn. Everything happens for a reason, and your ability to cope and overcome challenges will only improve over time. If you sit still and ignore the opportunities, you can't complain about being bored. If you dream about something, you have either the choice to continue dreaming, or doing it. I choose to do things, because I rather regret having done something than having to live with the "I should have done it".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm using couchsurfing, woofing, and work exchange. I'll try to share all I have that can be shared. From experiences, to cooking, to helping with projects or so. I couldn't host anybody in the last years, since I was living in a motorhome parked in friend's driveway...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Got only one experience so far, and it turned pretty nice. The host I was going to got a surprise familly visit few minutes before I got there. Turned out the room I was going to be in was finally given to the host family. I slept next to the barn outside (which wasn't a problem at all since I was camping every night anyways), but I spent the evening with my host's family and it was very cool. uncle and aunt were very funny, while the kids were always on me, playing and asking questions...

Interests

Oh my my my... interests... basically anything I can learn is interesting. Here's what I'm living for:
-kids
-motorcycles, trails, gravel roads, etc
-hands on projets

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think what I'm most proud of is being able to destabilize myself and do what my heart and head want's to do.
This one-year motorcycle trip is something I'm really looking forward to, as I know it will be challenging and I will learn a lot about myself and others.
