About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn as much about as many things as possible (and have fun doing it!)

ABOUT ME

I'm a classical saxophonist, I've studied in the US, Austria, and France, and traveled a bunch. Outside of music, I love cooking, coffee, wine, yerba mate, maps, languages, laughing, traveling, and meeting new and interesting people.

PHILOSOPHY

I really try to avoid doing something that I don't wholeheartedly want to do. This way I find myself committed at anything I happen to be doing. Reversely, I tend to do most anything I want, as long as it doesn't hurt others (subjective I know).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't officially hosted, minus my a lot of friends and friends-of-friends through word-of-mouth.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed twice in Minneapolis (once with Renee, once with a friend that Renee set me up with), and once in Vienna and in Bordeaux. I've spent a lot of time on friends' couches though in the last few years. I met up with Bruno for coffee while he was visiting Urbana and could have hosted him but he already had a place to stay and just wanted to meet someone from the area. I surfed in France and Scotland as well, always a great experience!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In a sort of "contest" to see if I was able, I ate 4 lbs (1.8kg) of yogurt at once. Kind of gross, I know!

Will teach and always willing to learn about coffee! Social justice, languages, higher education, Midwesternness, France, music, ...
