About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To enjoy a very hot and sunny summer in London before a few months of travelling

ABOUT ME

I'm self-employed so I'm flexible with my free time... when I have it that is.

I just love to be out and about. You'll probably find me ordering a drink at a bar in Angel, Camden or Shoreditch.

Music is life and all that...
but seriously I go to gigs (and want to do more) and also play the piano and violin - really need to get back in band though.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been couch surfing with close friends, both hosting and being hosted over a couple of years. My flat mate, Craig, is who I consider to be the King of couch surfing!

Interests

Live music, drinking and being sociable, cricket, old notebooks, white crayons, masking tape, tea stains, pianos (I have a red one and its amazing!), anything from a French supermarket especially Camembert au lait cru :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Pink Floyd!
...and a million other bands and singers. Right now I love The Naked & Famous, Molotov Jukebox, The Black Keys, Interpol and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

My favourite book is Dune - it's epic
...and even though I was late to the party, I'm a big fan of Potter now.

As for films: The Royal Tenenbaums, Leon, Jaws, Layer Cake, Inception, The Big Sleep, The Maltese Falcon, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Children of Men, True Romance, Inglorious Basterds, The Dark Knight, Batman, Donnie Darko, Seven, The Terminator, Alien, Aliens, Amadeus, Taxi Driver, 2001, Rear Window, 12 angry men, Being John Malkovich, Fargo, The Fighter, Black Swan, Mulholland Drive, Apocalypse Now, Airplane

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Working in the idyllic mountain setting of Arolla, Switzerland (1998m) during the summer of 2004. The people, scenery and hot chocolate still make it the best summer of my life.

Deciding to work for one week in New York just because I can. Working wirelessly in the sunny parks by day, meeting and drinking by night - was tremendous.

Various adventures whilst travelling from Adelaide to Darwin including canoeing along a gorge on Adelaide River, keeping up the drinking with a German family (beer o'clock is apparently 11am) and a weird and twisted tale one night in Cooper Pedy.

Travelling around Eastern Europe by train (10 x currencies, ways to say "hello", "thank you" and "a beer please").

Every Glastonbury festival I've been to (4 years now). Never a dull moment, always the happiest time of the year.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
