I am back home in Chicago right now, finishing a semester at UIC. I will be heading out for summer adventures on May 8th, to travel around the Northwest by car, train, thumb, whatever.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I won't have a couch free this summer but i have always been open to fellow travelers.

Will have a couch free as of August, in Albuquerque New Mexico.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I feel at home when i am on the road. I've met so many good people in my travels around the US. People have always been receptive to me and usually end up helping me along in my journey, offering up food, rides, places to stay, work. I've never really had any major problems except in Raton, NM, a place I do not recommend traveling to or being homeless for a night in.

Interessen

music, poetry, traveling, stargazing, beach combing, writing, educating myself, helping out in whatever ways I can, anything of beauty, and some things of disgust, because sometimes the disgusting things are actually quite beautiful- like dandelions for example.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I once saw a man jump out of a dumpster with a 2x4 and then walk into a Subway.

I also saw a man rip open a package of chicken in a grocery store, smell it, and then return it to the meat cooler.

I once got offered moonshine in the back of an old jalopy truck from the 1950's. This was in Joplin Missouri. I was hitchin. The truck eventually ran out of gas and the family inside got out, looking like some low income bumpkins from a Faulkner novel, and proceeded to push it up an on-ramp.

Once, when waiting for the red line L in Chicago, I saw a homeless man sidle a support pillar. He gave me a mad glare, and then turned and drew a mustache on an advertisement posted to his side. Since I've seen numerous photos, all bearing similar and different mustaches all over the city of Chicago.
