ABOUT ME
Excuse the awkwardness of the following description. These are always no fun.
My name is Phoebe Parede. I do enjoy a good time, anything from getting dressed up and going out to putting on my stretchy pants and kickin' it to a movie. I love all sorts of music and movies and love suggestions. I always take an interest in diverse individuals, and I'm always ready to hear or discover a new thought or view on things I never had before.
I have a rather large family, the eldest of 7, although this involves a complicated scenario of half/step siblings. Nevertheless, still the extensive family is rather abundant in people. Then again, why would it be called extensive? I come from a diverse background, two conflicting cultures. My mother, raised in a southern household, natives of Alabama and Tennessee. And then my father raised in a lively, Latin setting, Dominican and Guatemalan.
Any questions? Message!
PHILOSOPHY
I say what I mean, and I mean what I say. A life of redundancy is a life of boredom. Don't hold back, live it to the fullest.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have told several friends about this site, and some have even gone on far as to get a profile. I really want to get out there and travel, so I am using this as proactively as possible. Validation/Donation is always an added bonus to a member, which I also am doing, in increments. Most of all, I am more than happy to host! Perhaps even lucky enough to have one of my oatmeal scotchies :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted some, and the experience was quite pleasant. Great food, great conversation, great movies.

Music, Movies, and Books
Oh wowee. Movies? Depends on the day, Moulin Rogue to Friday to The Godfather. Name it, most likely I like it.
As for music: Janis Joplin, Pearl Jam, The Black Keys, Lenny Kravitz, Florence + the Machine, Passion Pit, Adele, Oasis, Lauryn Hill, Kings of Leon, The Mamas and the Papas, Jimi Hendrix, Common, Jill Scott, A Tribe Called Quest, The Roots, Editors, 2 Live Crew...honestly pretty much down for whatever.
Books, I am an avid reader, most recent book Pride and Prejudice, but I like just about any books, biography of musicians, novels [Heart of Darkness and The Jungle are some of my favorites], and informational books, always looking to further my knowledge on anything!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing experiences I have had is zip-lining in the jungles and swimming in the lagoons of Nicaragua. The entire trip was phenomenal, but honestly these probably stick out the most. I'm very much of a risk taker, and nothing tops hanging from your feet flying through the trees, only to fall into warm lagoons.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can definitely say I have had my share of life experience. I am honest with everyone. What can I offer to an individual? A listening ear or a creative way of relief. I seek to help others, strangers included. What I hope to learn is others' stories, others' lives, others' interests, what makes them different from me.
