About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Out and about for a stroll around the world, or anywhere I can be.
ABOUT ME
Hello! I'm Phoebe, from Malaysia. I love meeting people from around the globe and hearing stories of their adventures. I'm a creative individual who loves to write, paint, and have new experiences especially those that widen my perspectives. I love nature and philosophical talks; I also like movies and anything funny (i.e. people),and I love my grandma's cooking as much as I love her!
PHILOSOPHY
Love thy neighbor
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm hoping to travel to more places, meet new people (yes, you!), and experience more in life. I'd love to return the favor by welcoming others to where I am, when I get the chance to. I'd love to share my home, experiences and knowledge where I can, and learn from them too. I think the world is a fascinating place with so much to discover, learn and understand and I'm looking forward to meeting the incredible people that make up this wonderful world!
Interests
I like watching movies, singing, laughing till I tear up and my abs hurt, having cereal with bananas and milk, talking about life, listening to whatever you have to say, playing with puppies, long car rides, live music, sleeping, most physical activities (e.g. hiking), drawing and finding something new to experience.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm open towards new things, but personally, I enjoy jazz, classical, soul, soft rock and gospel music.
I love movies that probes deep into your soul, touches your heart, stirs your emotion, and leave you different than you were before watching them. I mostly like movies that tell a story and open my eyes towards the lives, situations and experiences of others that are beyond my imagination. I like movies that bring you into another world where you can immerse yourself for a couple of hours. Some movies that I love are Ratatouille, Meet the Robinsons, and The Godfather 1.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once, I went on a school trip with some classmates to Cambodia. There, we served the small community close to Camp Beng Mealea for a few days. Within those few days, we built a small house, repaired classrooms and worked soil for planting trees. I find the experience incredibly rewarding because we were contributing to a sustainable improvement. It was very fun doing all these with my classmates. However, what I enjoyed most was experiencing the sincere people, talking and playing with the children there, living in their traditional homes and simply living there. I enjoyed the simplicity and genuineness of their lives. The food was simple yet nourishing, the land was uncluttered yet so calming and beautiful. There was so much unspoken wealth there.
This is amazing to me because this experience has triggered in me, a love and curiosity towards discovering more interesting and amazing people from different places, cultures and backgrounds.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to share my knowledge of drawing henna tattoos and human portraits!
I can converse fluently in English and Malay; I would love to converse in more French and Mandarin (for improvement)!
I can teach you how to do a cartwheel in a day*!
