Overview
About Me
Hi! I’m Phoenix (formerly Artem). I was born in Russia, and at 20 years old, I left everything behind, took just a backpack, and hit the road.
If I were to put a few labels on myself, I’d say I’m a yogi (practicing for over 8 years), a fruitarian (I eat only fruits), and a nature lover. I love being outdoors and staying active—camping, hiking, surfing, snorkeling, swimming—anything fun and adventurous.
I also prioritize my health, making sure to sleep well, eat well, and move well. The healthier I am, the happier I feel!
I love meeting like-minded people who share my vision and passion for travel.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is an amazing platform. I love that I can meet like-minded people, learn about new places through the eyes of a local, discover hidden spots known only to locals, and have a more special, authentic experience that money can’t buy
Interests
Nature is my absolute favorite—whether it’s watching birds and sunsets, going to the beach or forest, or eating fresh fruits, these experiences give me a deep sense of peace and aliveness.
I love staying physically active and being outdoors—hiking, camping, swimming, surfing, snorkeling, practicing yoga, and more.
I also enjoy playing my flute, joining a drum circle when there’s one nearby, and, once in a while, listening to live music and going dancing.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don’t have strong preferences when it comes to music, movies, or books. I usually don’t consume much of it and enjoy silence and nature instead. When I do listen to music, watch something, or read, I stay open to anything.
My favorite artist is "AURORA",
my favorite movie is "The Truman Show",
and my favorite book is "The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself" by Michael A. Singer
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent my last bit of money on a one-way ticket to Mexico, packed my backpack, left everything I owned and everyone I knew behind, and flew to the other side of the planet with no plans.
I had a few hundred bucks in my pocket at the start – spent it in my first month, and then managed to travel around Mexico for another five months, living my best life, hustling along the way, having fun and adventures, volunteering, and hanging out with the coolest people – all with no money left in my pocket. It was amazing
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach arts, cooking (since I worked in a restaurant for a while), yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and health and well-being.
I can share my travel stories, life experiences, and perspectives on life, spirituality, and health.
I can also explain why I eat only fruit and aim to live more like Tarzan or a monkey.
And I’m open to learning whatever my new friends are willing to teach me.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share myself, my skills, and my knowledge.
We can create new life experiences together—cooking, doing yoga, surfing, snorkeling, hiking, or even going on a camping trip. I’m up for any adventure!
