About Me

CURRENT MISSION

What is a sustainable, open source society?

ABOUT ME

I know nothing in particular but something about many things. I love to meet people and to exchange and get new points of view.

Nature is my source of inspiration and my retreat and I love to wander around. I especially love waterfalls and mountains, but I bring the same awe to deserts and beaches.

I think to be very open, feel like an earth citizen and feel comfortable anywhere quickly.

Music is at the center of myself, I play piano and have been keyboarder in a number of local bands. Besides making music I just love dancing.

I am passionate about sustainability and thinking a lot about what it means to our times and trying to make my contribution. I believe that sustainability is not something you preach - it is fun! It's not about renouncing on something.

I am trained as software engineer but I'm open to something new.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't have a specific philosophy. I try to live for the moment, to be open. Nothing is given, and there is no such thing as the truth. Everybody contributes with an own point of view which is unique. Try to bring all in my to expression. We are living in an amazing time of transition. Diversity is key, change is the only constant.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live in Medellín, Colombia. After a broken relationship with a local girl I am now living in a small room in the city, but I also have a little very simple country side house 45min by car from the center - I could host people there if there's interest.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a few very enjoyable Couchsurfing experiences in Ireland, it was great. Traveling throughout Latin America I have been able to experience how many friendly and welcoming people there are all over the world!

Interests

From permaculture to open source, from computers to piano, from dancing to reading, from community to traveling, hiking, nature; renewable energy, food, cooking, plants - enjoy community, going out, have fun, partying, dancing

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe one of the major lessons of our times is to learn to cooperate and collaborate. The Internet is a major display of this and the open source movement which creates software is an example. I think this is just the beginning of a society where we learn to share knowledge and be more collaborative instead of competitive.

I am happy to share everything I know with people. Ther is no such thing as pure teaching, as teaching involves learning as well.
