Happy to give my Facebook by message.
Hello!
Permanently curious 20-something in love with the world.
I'm an aspiring film editor, on a summer break before moving to London. I love cinema, of course, as well as cycling, food and drink, and general misadventures. I took a gap year in 2015/16, and that's when Couchsurfing became a part of my life. I love meeting people, especially those from which I can learn something new. I believe in freedom, aspiration and above all the importance of happiness and being "chill", to sound like a surfer (I can't surf to save my life (but I can couchsurf)).
I speak English, some Italian and a very little bit of French. I also speak Maneinpeshch - which is a language I made with a friend (yeah..). If you're requesting to stay, be sure to throw the native greeting 'Teht' at the start of your message so I know you actually know who I am. :-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
From March to September 2016 I went travelling around Europe from my home in Lancashire, UK. I went looking to prove to myself that true adventure driven by free will is still possible in the world we live in and equally to meet new and interesting people, which I did, some of whom I hope to stay in touch with for the rest of my life.
Couchsurfing was a godsend for me. Practically it made my trip possible, but way above and beyond that it made it what it was. Now, when I travel, I don't want to lock myself away in a hotel room, I want to get to know someone in the place they call home.
Speaking of home, I have a new one having come home and started uni. I live in Bristol, recently listed as the 4th most inspiring city in the world. I love it and I think you will too. It's time I gave back to this amazing community and so I'm happy to welcome the world in.
[summer 2022: I have no home again! Moving to London in September]
Interests
I love storytelling, and have done since I was very young, from an early passion for theatre and acting, all the way through school and uni to the edges of the film industry as an editor. At this point I would most like to end up with a career in these industries.
I also love cycling, it has been a sort of lifeblood since 2016. I even got paid to do it for a few years, what could be better than that? (spoiler: many, many things)
Food. Food food food. I once described myself as "not particularly good, but a brave experimenter" in the kitchen. Now, after a few years hosting friends and foreigners alike in my own kitchens I know my way around a little better. Nothing better than making friends with someone over some music and cooking.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
Tooooooooo many to mention. Spotify has destroyed any sense of an organised music taste, for better and for worse!

Movies: My party trick is that I probably haven't seen 4 out of your 5 favourite movies despite having a first class degree in cinema!
There are some common veins appearing in what I enjoy in films: often European or world cinema, and a preference for "films where nothing happens". Take from that what you will.
Books: I'm a bit of a shit reader, in truth. I've been on the same book for nearly two years. It's not long. But it is Italian.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
8000 miles around Europe on a bike! Currently trying to make a film out of it, which is much fckin harder.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am happy to help others learn English, and I would love the opportunity to delve into other languages too. As well as this, anything that I do I would love to teach, be it cycling, bike mechanics, reading, writing, acting, hockey, photography or film. It would be a pleasure to help anyone, so if I can, I will.
This paragraph used to say something really profound and cheesy about meeting people, but I've since decided it's easier to just say that people are great, and I like meeting new ones. Time is a pretty important resource and with others is one of the best ways to spend it. Life's no fun if you aren't *having* fun, and all that.
I love to exchange cultural tidbits like art, language, music and food and I can't wait to discover and experience new cultures and fun stuff like that. :-)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I want to share any journey and the adventure it is fueled by with any and all of my hosts. I am happy to share my whole life with these people; my story, my beliefs, my feelings and thoughts and jokes, and would love to receive the same in return.
On my travels I share my filming with anyone I visit, as a way of remembering them long after I come home, and of course I am always happy to help cook or clean!
The one thing I do have in some supply when travelling is time, and a strong willingness to meet new people and to have fun while I do so. And when I am back from my travels I would love to return the favour to anyone who was kind enough to let me into their homes and lives.
