Présentation
À propos de moi
I spent my childhood in a small country town about 2 hours east of Melbourne. I had two older brothers and three sisters. My father was born in England and migrated to Australia in 1929 where he met my mother. Dad always preferred working at farming or gardening jobs but loved reading .
We were very poor but my parents were good managers. Both parents loved classical music.
I married my husband in 1966 and we then had 5 children. Now we have 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. We have moved house 4 times and now live in Phillip Island overlooking Westernport Bay with lots of different water birds. My sons and I love fishing and my husband sailing.
Our interests include cycling, reading, films, painting (watercolour), mosaics, woodwork and bee keeping.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
We love meeting people and have hosted many students and wwoofers since 1990. We love travelling and prefer to stay with people to enjoy their hobbies and travel experiences.
Morceaux de musique, films et livres
Our favourite music is the classics. I love choirs like the Welsh choir and my husband loves Beethoven, Mozart etc. We also enjoy folk music and some jazz. We both learned the piano in our early years.
Books include mysteries, biographies and Jon Grisham novels.
We enjoy English and French comedies. Some films we enjoyed include Cherry Blossoms, Tais Toi, In the sticks (French comedy). David enjoys dramas and I prefer Escape to the country and Keeping up Appearences, Doc Martin and Call the midwife: all British.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
I started a small garden club a couple of years ago and although gardening is no longer a priority the club has grown to over 30 people almost all in the same street and sharing their homes once a month. We have since moved but manage to attend quite regularly.
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I am happy to share my knowledge of many crafts including watercolour. I also love cooking and playing scrabble. My husband likes keeping fit by riding his cycle twice a week on a 30klm ride. He is a keen photographer so is happy to share his knowledge. If people visit us they can go sailing or fishing.
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
I guess the main thing I can share is to cook a meal for the hosts. Also we can tell them about Australia as we have visited all the 7 states but it is a very big country and we mainly know the coastal areas.
