ABOUT ME

Hi there!
My name is Pia, I am from Denmark, but live in Calgary, Canada right now, where I am doing my PhD.
I love to travel and meet new people and live life to the fullest. I am mostly a happy person, very comfortable being me and very independent - I easily find things to do. I like to laugh and be with good company - but I also enjoy my downtime from time to time. I am quite frank and speak my mind, guess it's the Dane in me ;-) The western culture has grown on me and - to my friend's and family's amusement - I like to go to small town rodeos, listen to country music, etc. Anything else - just ask :-)

PHILOSOPHY

Be true, to your self and to people around you. Never lie, always tell the truth. Try to be a better person and to be there for people who needs it. We never know when this ride is over, so enjoy the roller coster for it's ups and downs.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live on a farm just outside Calgary - about 20 minutes from downtown, where I have a sofa in my living room that I can offer.. It's not a double bed, but it's definitely a place to sleep. There is lots of place outside and I have a tent that I could easily put up if more room is needed. I am willing to share kitchen and bathroom of course... I can offer rides into Calgary pending on my schedule, and there are busses that goes to Banff etc from there. If I have time, I would like to tour-guide a bit... At times I am fairly busy, so you would have to be independent and not mind venturing out on your own. I have a dog, Rocky, that is very friendly and well behaved :-)

I really love my job, I am curious about science and find it important me to make a difference in life - even though it might be small... I enjoy cooking, wine, good company, friends, my dog (chocolate lab, Rocky) going horseback riding, hiking, camping, swimming, biking, watching movies, books, and music. And a whole lot more that makes life worth living :-)

音乐、电影和书籍

I like comedies, romantic movies, action movies, dramas. I listen to country music, pop and some softer rock. I love reading books and have in the last year or two discovered audio books, so I listen in the car, at work, cleaning etc to books when I can.

I once went to the Filippines, and went on a night dive. I saw the luminescent plancton, and that was amazing!
I am also awestruck every time I go to the Rocky Mountains, either it's just driving through, hiking or strolling. They make me feel so small and unimportant.
