About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm going on a trip to Mallorca in April and while I initially just wanted to go hiking, I'm now looking for some friendly hosts who would be willing to share some time, stories and recommendations on where to go and what to do around Palma with me, to make the trip to this island more special and get the local experience!! :)

ABOUT ME

I'm friendly, open-minded and welcoming. I like being outside and enjoy nature's beauty, whether it's riding my bike, hiking through mountain ranges, wandering through the dunes or swimming in the sea. Needless to say that love travelling!
I love good, fresh food accompanied with red wine! I like cooking for others, enjoy to share my experiences and like listening to people's stories. I like to read, learn and be surprised. Sometimes I just need to be by myself and sometimes I feel like dancing all night long...

PHILOSOPHY

It's not always working out ;) but I'd like to live by the following: “If the problem can be solved why worry? If the problem cannot be solved worrying will do you no good.” (Shantideva)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to host whenever time allows me to and be hosted whenever I'm travelling... I'm spontaneous so don't shy away from requesting at short notice!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had several, not too many couchsurfing experiences and all were awesome! They made me want to travel around just to couchsurf and get to know the people... Overall, only great experiences especially because every experience was so unique and the people I met so different! :)

Interests

travelling, reading, cooking healthy and organic food, going to the movies, being a good aunt :), running, swimming, knitting and other handicrafts, cultures + languages, dancing, live music!!!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'll just list the first things that pop into my mind:

Music: Augustines, Death Cab for Cutie, Subways, Sublime, Crystal Fighters, Alt J, The Kooks, Bonobo, Buena Vista Social Club, Calle 13, Jack Johnson, Arkells, Die Ärzte, The Lumineers, Dashboard Confessional, L'aupaire, Parov Stelar, Ben Caplan

Movies: Moonrise Kingdom, Fight Club, The Departed, Romeo and Juliet by Baz Luhrmann, Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Submarine, 500 Days of Summer, Little Miss Sunshine, Juno, Forrest Gump, Secret Window, Kill the Boss, Oh Boy, The Graduate, many more...

Books: I grew up being highly influenced by the Harry Potter books, but have come to expand my horizons a lot since ;) Lately, I've mostly read postcolonial literature, e.g by Chinua Achebe and Chimamanda Adichie, and started to read some old classics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking up a glacier to a height of over 4000 meters on my first trip to the Swiss Alpes... feeling the dizziness and exhilaration... jumping over crevasses.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would say that I'm a good cook who enjoys cooking for others! I love to share my life and travel experiences and am always interested in learning phrases in another language!

What I Can Share with Hosts

respect, honesty, curiosity, politeness and a thankful smile! :)
