About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Through traveling I hope to find the courage to live the life I want to live, and not the life I'm expected to live.

ABOUT ME

1. Sometimes I live in my own little world -- in a good way! As a kid, I would always wander and explore my surroundings alone, often just silently walking and appreciating what I see. I think that's still me today.
2. I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie. Not so much that I need the adrenaline rush -- I'm just not scared of it.
3. I'm bit of a dork; when I start getting into a book, show, or movie everything seems real to me and all my emotions are at an extreme level. A good example: I often cry when a character in a book/show dies. I experience fiction as an outlet for me to explore different ideas and emotions that my everyday life does not allow.
4. The first 3 points describe me at extremes. On an everyday basis, I'm really more of a relaxed person.
5. No beer for me; I'll make for it in sangria and tequila. ;)
6. Last but not least; I should have been born a mermaid.

PHILOSOPHY

1. Be the change you wish to see in the world.
2. Kill it with kindness.
3. Work hard, play hard.
4. What do you mean I'm not Beyonce

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't had a couchsurfing experience, but I hope I get the chance to this summer in Greece!

Interests

1. The sea: If I ever ran away from home the first place they should look is a tropical beachfront.
2. Yoga: I'm still a beginner, but definitely love the lifestyle and experience I've had so far.
3. Fiction novels: They take me to a different place. (I listed down some of my favorite books below!)
4. Movie buff: I love it all. Except for horror. My imagination is too vivid that I would not be able to sleep for nights.
5. Travel

  • books
  • beer
  • yoga
  • walking
  • traveling
  • bungee jumping
  • skydiving

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Black Keys, the Beatles, Weezer, Ben Howard, Ed Sheeran, Oasis, 70's music!

Movies: I am an amateur movie buff; there's too many movies I love. Sometimes I could care less about the plot, or actual acting skills -- if the movie makes me feel something, or makes me come to some kind of epiphany then I like it.

Books: Same as movies, if it makes me feel something, or if I feel I've learned a valuable lesson from it, I can usually shrug off if it's poorly written. That being said... Harry Potter, Eragon Series, Coraline, The Giver, Love Rosie, Chronicles of Narnia, Nancy Drew, The Five People You Meet in Heaven, Thirteen Reasons Why, The Kiterunner, If I am Missing or Dead. And Greek Mythology.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1. Scubadiving is one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. It's a totally different world. Being unable to verbally communicate underwater makes the experience even more enchanting.
2. I went bungee jumping two summers ago and it was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had: to defy your instinct to NOT jump off a bridge into a river; to jump and experience that feeling in your stomach as gravity takes you; to be pulled back up into the world and want nothing more than to immediately jump off again.
3. Skydiving was surprisingly not as bad as bungee jumping. I've only ever done a tandem jump, but I would definitely want to do a solo jump in the near future.
