About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meeting different people, cultures, music, partying till the sun rises, or simply relaxing till the sun sets, exploring new landscapes, eating new food, learning new languages, and generally being happy...

ABOUT ME

I write and play music, I love to travel, and I'm passionate about sustainable agriculture and 'permaculture'. My "roots" are from Israel, England, Libya, Denmark and China, and also with extended family from Iran, Canada, Egypt and Scotland, and a few other places..

I'm quite imaginative, and I'm very chilled out most of the time. I'm curious about all sorts of things, and I absolutely love travelling, for too many reasons to start listing here.

PHILOSOPHY

"He who binds to himself a joy
Does the winged life destroy;
But he who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in eternity's sun rise."
- William Blake

"We need not think alike to love alike"
- Ferenc David

"All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once you grow up."
- Pablo Picasso

"Make things as simple as possible but no simpler."
- Albert Einstein

"Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere."
- Albert Einstein

"If people did not sometimes do silly things, nothing intelligent would ever get done"
- Ludwig Wittgenstein

"Variety's the very spice of life..."
- William Cowper

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

To be totally honest I haven't participated for a long time, but I'm looking to get involved and participate.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met some really fantastic people from couch surfing in Portsmouth, UK. I even took part in a 'poetry & music' night with them, where they performed poetry and I joined in with them through playing piano and a hand drum.. such a good time! I also met amazing people in Madrid and Granada, where I had some of the most memorable experiences ever. Such an incredible time.

Interests

Permaculture / sustainable agriculture, pasta, basketball, the sun, music, photography, tasty drinks unknown to the UK like horchata de chufa, orzata and mauby, how things work, philosophy, badminton, films, books, table tennis, culture, history, psychology, volleyball

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed a mountainous desert after having no sleep & no food, got to the top in time for sunrise.

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach piano, music theory, composition, improvisation, and music production on computer. I can also share my recipes for spaghetti bolognese (my grandfather's Libyan family recipe) & curry. When I feel I have enough experience and knowledge, I'd like to one day teach sustainable agriculture.

I would love to learn many things, including how to swim, to speak more Spanish, how to make goats cheeses, I'd love to know more about Buddhism, philosophy of language, positive psychology & sociology, organic hydroponics, basketball tricks, meditation, macro/micro-economics, sustainable construction with passive solar heating, political sciences, more permaculture, and I would love to learn Hindi, Malayalam, Arabic, Mandarin, Farsi, Italian...
