I am currently working on my Ph.D. in Music Theory at McGill University in Montréal, QC. Prior to McGill, I finished an M.M. in Piano Performance and Music Theory, a B.M. in Piano, and a B.A. in Physics & Astrophysics. In short, I love school (so much that I decided to stay and work towards becoming a professor!).

Besides my obsession with Beethoven, I like good beer, wine, and coffee—especially in the company of friends. My brother is a professional strongman and I seem to share a drive for lifting weights in the gym (albeit, not as well as him). I love exploring new places and cultures. I enjoy playing table tennis whenever I get the chance. I speak German pretty well, and my French is improving slowly but surely.

I'm on Couchsurfing to save costs while at the same time having a more authentic traveling experience. I am a social guy, and couchsurfing creates a space that is more interesting than hotels...

Music, Movies, and Books

I read a lot of music theory books. I perform a lot of Beethoven piano sonatas and I listen to every style of music--lately I've been obsessed with Beethoven, Mahler, Gershwin, Deadmau5 and various other electronic artists.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trained in Houston, Texas on a Powered Paraglider (think Paraglider but with a motor so you can run and take off from the ground!).

Studied in Graz, Austria for half a year on exchange.

Studied in Seoul, South Korea for 5 weeks in the summer on exchange.
