About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Right now my mission is to make the most of my time! I am spending the semester teaching in Ireland and want to take in as much as possible while I'm here. New friends, new experiences; I'm up for it all!
ABOUT ME
Alright, well for starters my life revolves around art. Visual, music, theater, I love it all! I'm a huge art history nerd, and going to museums is one of my favorite things to do. I'm also really into Broadway, and have seen waaay too many shows to count. I'm planning on spending my life as an art teacher, hopefully in NYC (Brooklyn would be ideal). I'm also looking at Portland right now...kind of opposite ends of the spectrum but I would be happy with either. My students make me smile every day, and I am constantly learning new things from them; they make me fall in love with art all over again!
Up until last fall semester I hadn't been outside of the U.S. Then I decided I wanted to do my student teaching abroad, and starting in September I jetted off to Ireland! I had a wonderful time, and countless new experiences. I made great friends, and am definitely planning on returning to Europe multiple times.
PHILOSOPHY
Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. (Ok, I stole that from Ferris Bueller)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've done a bit of traveling staying in hostels, but I think the best way to explore a place is with someone who lives there! I was lucky enough to try couch surfing for the first time when I was living in Europe, and had absolutely fantastic experiences. I would definitely do it again, and when I move to someplace cooler I will definitely be offering up my couch! Right now my town is lame, so no one wants to surf with me. :-P
Disclaimer: If I send you a couchsurfing request, I guarantee I have read your entire profile. I like to get a feel for people before I send them requests and make sure we would get along well :-)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couch surfed while I was in Europe (as stated previously) and LOVED it. My best experience was in London staying with a really cool theatre major...she was so friendly and helpful; we got along very well. Although she didn't have a couch or living room (I slept on the floor next to her bed) it was a ton of fun, and made me believe that couch surfing really is the best way to travel!
