About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Just moved to Munich, Germany in September 2016! I just moved into my own flat in an area called Olching, just outside the city of Munich.

I love different types of people with different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Love when someone I am hosting cooks a dish from their culture!

ABOUT ME

I was born in Japan, but I consider my hometown to be Seattle since I moved to Seattle when I was 7. I moved from Seattle to Los Angeles in April 2012, and I really loved it here. I just recently moved to Munich, Germany since I have an opportunity to live and work in Munich.

I was lucky to be raised with 2 cultures: the American culture as well as the Japanese culture. I love meeting new people. If you would like to visit Los Angeles what I ask is that you are a clean, respectful, and not cheap. I am open to showing you around town as well!

PHILOSOPHY

I like to keep a good work/life balance. I try not to take things too seriously and I love to laugh and even make fun of myself at times.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been hosting since November of 2013. I have met many different types of people from many different countries, and I am really loving the experience.

In 2015, I was hosted for 1 night in Germany and 2 nights in Athens. They were wonderful! I also would like to go to a local couchsurfing event as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted a lot, and I have been hosted twice. My first host was in Athens, and Marilena was an amazing host! I was hosted one night by Marie in Berlin, and she was also a great host, and even made me breakfast! I look forward to seeing both of them again in the future.

What I've learned from this site is there are people who genuinely want to meet new people and experience culture, and there are those who just want to take advantage of a free place to stay and aren't interested in getting to know someone. There are those who want to return the favor and host when they are able to, and there are those who want to be hosted and have no intention on hosting others.

Interests

Right now my favorite thing to do is to go hiking and camping. I really want to see more national parks whether that is in Europe or US. People that are interested in seeing this is high on my list for people that I would love to host!

I love sports, fitness and movies as well. Tennis, basketball, soccer and skiing are my favorite sports.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to list, but here are a few
Movies:
Braveheart, Gladiator, Rocky, Lord of the Rings, Godfather, Mad Men, Dexter, Game of Thrones

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My latest trip was a 30 days, 10 country trip to Europe! I went to Kaunas in Lithuania, Warsaw in Poland, Prague in Czech Republic, Istanbul in Turkey, Athens and Santorini in Greece, Frankfurt and Berlin in Germany, Vienna in Austria, Budapest in Hungary, Tallinn in Estonia and Riga in Latvia! I got an amazing taste of the various cultures and foods, and the best part of this trip was that I had nothing planned! I encourage people to try this type of traveling at least once

Machu pichu in Peru was amazing! I also like to go to ruins and pyramids, such as the temple of the sun and the moon in Mexico city. The great barrier reef in Australia was beautiful. The beaches in Maui and Belize are not heavily populated and can't be expressed in words. The cities in Morocco are full of life. Walking the city in France is like walking back in time and in history. I want to go to Egypt, Portugla, Iceland, and many more locations. Now that I am living in Europe, I will be able to see a lot more places that are on my bucket list.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have learned a lot about cultures and food through the people that have stayed with me. Over time, I will learn to understand more and more about this world. There are things that you cannot learn from reading a book, but it motivates me to do more reading and learn more about what is going on in this world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to go hiking, camping, going to the beach, visiting national parks, sports (tennis, surfing and skiing are my favorites right now) and roadtrips. I also love to find hidden gems for places to eat as well as non-local spots.

For local attractions, I am open to doing the Hollywood sign hike. A small house party is a lot of fun as well.
