About Me

Hello there! I'm Pierce. For the past few years I've been a rambling organic farmer, with a dash of traveling. As an about me here's a snapshot of my life:

This coming season I'll be returning to the Olympic Peninsula in Washington to grow fruits and veggies, bake bread, hike, kayak, make food, friends and memories. In the mean time, I'll be home reading, writing, studying farming practices, and feeling generally festive. In January I'll be heading to Texas to work with a disaster relief organization in Houston.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

More and more I realize that generosity, meeting new people, and meeting new places are some of the most beautiful things one can experience. With that in mind, I truly believe in the couchsurfing "economy"

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Big fan of folk, bluegrass, Sylvan Esso, Iron and Wine, and generally chill things
Movies: Anything thoughtful, quirky, witty. I love Wes Anderson, Paul Thomas Anderson, and lots others, but can't keep track of these things
Books: The English major in me says I like "Modern Lit". Hemingway. Steinbeck, Faulkner, Fitzgerald, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacked Europe for three months and met the best people.

I'm gonna cheat and add another: I volunteered in the Philippines after Hurrican Haiyan, building a schoolhouse.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm pretty well versed in growing food, cooking, literature, and randomly basketball. I'm also a gold mine of random, useless, and sometimes fun facts.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Food, "That's what she said" jokes, deep conversation, witty banter, bottles of wine, a love of Oregon, biscuits.

Things I Can't Share:

Toothbrushes, small talk, my biscuit recipe.
