About Me

CURRENT MISSION

The never-ending pursuit of fun and adventure

ABOUT ME

I get excited about adventure and probably love going for a hike in the mountains with friends more than anything in the world. Still can't get my heart around what makes Montana so amazing, but every so often I'm awe struck by all that we have to be thankful for here. I love art and music and photography, openness, friendship and authenticity. In the summer you can catch me on the river fly fishing or hiking along the Continental Divide, or just as easily dancing up a storm at an outdoor concert. I like good, home cooked meals and hoppy beers and sitting around the table and talking. I like to share dreams.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that most people are good people. I believe that we have the power to shape our own experience and decide who we want to be in life. I believe that setting positive goals and trying to be the best you can be everyday is a worthy endeavor. I believe in the pursuit of fun, adventure and happiness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think the Couch Surfing Project is a great way to meet people and share experiences. It is a great way to make friends and open your eyes to the world. Couch Surfing lays the foundation for life-changing interactions by breaking the mold of what it means to travel to a new place. It gives me comfort to know that there are people all over the world who share in this process, and I'm proud to call myself one of them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had the pleasure of crashing on pads from New Zealand to Alaska and France to Vietnam. The kindness of strangers is overwhelming. Maybe my favorite couch of all time was a bed of straw hay bales I stayed on in a yurt in central France in 2007. What an amazing place. I'll take hay bales over starched sheets any day of the week.

Interests

Painting, travel, photography, writing, web design, videography, hiking, fishing and the outdoors, music of all sorts, blues and folk concerts, good food.

Music, Movies, and Books

What I'll listening to: Muddy Waters greatest hits
What I'm reading: Documentary Filmmaking
What I'm watching: The War by Ken Burns

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'll never forget riding on the back of a motobike through the crowded streets of Hanoi, Vietnam. The sensation of thick air rushing past your face and the hum of a whining motor beneath you makes you feel more alive than anything.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have quite a bit of experience fly fishing, hiking and camping in Montana. I also know a bit about photography. I'd be happy to share my knowledge of these topics with anyone interested.

I am very eager to learn web design and particularly Flash and ActionScript 3.0. I am also learning as much as I can about video production and movie making. I am also eager to learn ways to live and work abroad.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, New Zealand, Viet Nam
