About Me

ABOUT ME

Ciao! Hello!
I'm 31 years old, living in Crema, in northern Italy. I have lived in the north, south and center of Italy. For 16 years I have lived in the capital city, the magnificent Rome, which I consider the town where I really grew up and understood life.

PHILOSOPHY

I love to make my life adventurous, whatever it means. I like adventurous journeys and I do an adventurous job.
Even life is an adventure, so I'm pleased to be on this world.
Discover places, discover people, and then discovery myself and things about myself I couldn't even Imagine.
I think that every location, every person and every life is a huge treasure of knowledge. I want to better understand the world and to become a better person. The best way to achieve this goal is to expand your mind, travel, read, think.

Each one is unique in this world. Share with me how unique you are.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

"Before you judge the world, try to understand it".
This was the thinking of Baruch Spinoza, one of my favourite philosophers.

Nah, I'm not the boring person you could suppose ;)

Anyway, I'm here on Coachsurfing because I love to get to know new people. To understand the world before you make a misrepresented idea of it. I want to enrich my personal life, find the right perspective. You can help me.

Interests

I love:

* Exploring the world; that's the first thing. Fortunately, I make a job that allows me to travel a lot and to work abroad;

* Exploring myself: self-discovery through connection with others, embracing diversity;

* Hiking and trekking; nature lets you have the best of everything: the best sightings, the best landscapes, the deepest houghts about life and yourself;

* Explore local foods: give me something to taste and I'll do it!

* Travelling by train; I think this is the best way to appreciate the journey (sometimes it could really be an adventure) ;)

* Going around with bikes; I used to get around Rome by bike, even if I think it's the most bike-UNfriendly city in the western world.

* Reading books; simply another way to travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC

I love classical music, dance/house music, and I like dancing at nightclubs.

I also like some Italian singer-songwriters (De Andrè, Guccini) and epic music (like soundtracks or Two Steps from Hell).

MOVIES

I don't have a favourite movie, but I love the road-comedy genre.

BOOKS

The best one I've read is Moby Dick, by Herman Melville. I also appreciate the works of Milan Kundera (I also wrote him a letter, and he replied to me with his own hands).

"The Hitchhiker Guide to Galaxy" is a must for everyone who wants to understand the meaning of life.

I have read all the books of "A Song of Ice and Fire", better known as "Game of Thrones". I'm a huge fan of the books and the TV series. We could have very interesting conversation about that ;)

I also enjoy reading historical essays, especially those about Middle Ages, Renassaince and Early Modern Eras.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Work for seven months on an offshore drilling rig in the Barents Sea, in the Arctic, during winter, in the total darkness of the polar night. That was quite an experience...!

Cross the Danakil Desert in Ethiopia, looking down into the crater of the Erta Ale volcano, sleeping on the lava floor on the top. One of the most remote regions in the world, and the hottest place on Earth. That was incredible. We can talk a lot about that.

Countries I’ve Visited

Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Ethiopia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, San Marino, Seychelles, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State
