Hi!
My name is Pierre. I come from Normandy, North-West of France and I used to live In Paris during 6 years.
Since I finished my study in Geography of Food 2 years and half ago I'm traveling and getting more experiences in my domain : the alternative food productions, in particularly the permaculture.
I love travelling and discovering new places and new cultures by meeting nice people. I spent 7 months in Indonesia 2 years ago to make my final thesis.
I spend the last year in Australia between different jobs and a big tour of the country. I just finished this experience with a 2 months internship in a Permaculture farm near Canberra.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is a very nice tool to meet new people, to share about our life and our travel.
When I go somewhere, I prefer to meet people who lived here since a while, with who I can share about the area and the culture. I don't want to go in a hostel full of backpackers who just want to make party.

Interests

I love cooking, in particular good product like organic vegetables. Since 3 years I practice yoga and more recently but also more seriously some meditation. I'm very interested by all the alternative way of life, like the medecine, the education, the food system and production. I'm also interested by the politic and all the things that concern us and our future.

Music, Movies, and Books

I grow up with hip-hop in my ears, but I'm very open to discover new kind of music. I also like the jazz or the electronic music.
I look more TV show than movies, but one of my favorite this last years is Inception.
About the TV show, I really enjoyed Dexter, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, The Wire and Narcos, Mr Robot, Rick and Morty and Hannibal for the last ones.
One of my favorite book is The Little Prince of A. De Saint-Exupéry. I also really enjoyed The Lion of J. Kessel and 1984 of G. Orwell. Now, I read a lot of books about the alternative agriculture, or alternative way of life. A book which really change my mind this last months is How everything can collapse of P. Servigne.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent one day and one night to watch the volcano Krakatau in Indonesia during an eruption with some amazing lava fireworks!

A 10 days meditation retreat with 10 hours of meditation a day (of course without speaking during all the retreat!).

Teach, Learn, Share

I really like to discover the people way of life and sharing mine. I also like to have new experiences or travel with other people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

More over share about my travel and my experiences, I will really enjoy to cook for my host! I'm still a beginner but I also can teach them some yoga postures!
