Hi there, I'm a belgian guy living in Paris at the moment. I took a year off before starting university in order to figure things out a bit. I traveled to a few places, including India, where I spent 3 intense months wandering about. It was a very formative experience.

My main occupation is making music, I released an EP a few months ago called "a perfect life", it's kind of a folk-rock singer songwriter thing. I travel with my guitar and love to jam and share this incredible thing that is music. I also dabble in writing, mainly poetry. I used to be into filmmaking big time, but it's something I haven't really stayed in touch with, maybe one day haha. Made a few short movies. I love art and philosophy, and I'm always up for a nice conversation about interesting stuff.

I'm vegetarian at home, however I adapt to the culture of my hosts as I do not want to create any hassle. I'm a generally laid back and social guy. I should also mention that I am very tall, therefore I knock my head on various things. It's alright. You get used to it.

I'll be stuying Politics in Glasgow next year. For some reason I feel very attracted to Glasgow's vibrant music and art scene, it' definitely something I would like to explore.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I appreciate citizen-driven initiatives such as Couchsurfing, Workaway, or other websites like that, that simply aim at connecting people from diferent places and cultures, and make them meet.

Music, Movies, and Books

I absolutely love music, especially rock music, the alternative side of it I would say (Radiohead, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Oasis, Nirvana), jazz music (Stan Getz, Chet Baker, Miles Davis), and folk music (Bob Dylan, Neil Young). I also really enjoy filmscores (the work of Hans Zimmer, Howard Shore, Philip Glass), and classical/contemporary music as well (Erik Satie, Steve Reich).

I am also a big film fan. I really enjoy "bigger than life" movies, (the Lord of the Rings, the Matrix, Inception, Interstellar, the dark knight) and more intimate, subtle movies (Wes Anderson's movies, Good Will Hunting), as well as documentaries.

Reading is one of my favourite thing in the world. Love the Beat Generation. Books that I like include : the Lord of the Rings (what a surprise), Ubik, Watchmen, Into the wild, Animal Farm, 1984, On the road, The Stranger.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I bought a vinyl turntable yesterday, and it's fucking grand. Not necessarily an amazing thing but I wanted to share that.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could sort of teach you how to make movies (shooting, editing) as I have some experience in that field, and how to play the guitar. I can also teach you how to speak French.

I would love to learn how to do a live gig, how to cook better food. To discover other ideologies, cultures, and ways of thinking.
